Chai Tea Allergy Symptoms
Chai tea is a beverage often made from a combination of spices, tea, milk and sweetener. The spice blend used in chai tea varies, but generally includes cinnamon, cloves, cardamom as well as ginger, nutmeg, fennel and star anise. People with allergies to chai tea may be allergic to the spices, milk or tea constituents.-
Tingling

Some people with food allergies experience tingling in the mouth soon after consumption of Chai Tea. Tingling may occur as a solitary symptom, or in conjunction with other symptoms.
Hives and Rashes

Hives, rashes and itching are common indicators of a food allergy. Hives appear as raised red welt on the skin and rashes may take many forms. Hives and rashes often itch or burn.
Eczema

A food allergy may present as the skin condition eczema. It may begin immediately after eating or days later.
Swelling

Swelling is indicative of a food allergy. Swelling may occur in the face, lips, throat and tongue. Extreme swelling that makes it hard to breath is a serious condition called anaphylaxis. When breathing is compromised, immediate medical attention must be sought.
Vomiting and Diarrhea

Vomiting, nausea and diarrhea may be symptoms of an allergy to chai tea. Abdominal pain may accompany other gastrointestinal symptoms.
Dizziness and Disorientation

Dizziness, feeling lightheaded, disorientation and inability to concentrate may all be symptoms of an allergic reaction. Feeling dizzy may also be a symptom of a more serious reaction such as anaphylaxis, especially when accompanied by rapid pulse, shock and difficulty breathing. If anaphylaxis is suspected, seek immediate medical help, as this can be a life-threatening situation.
