Kill all mold and mildew around the house. Mix bleach and water in a spray bottle. Mix one part water to one part bleach and fill a spray bottle. Use this solution for more severe areas around the house such as black mold on the foundation of the house. Mix two parts water and one part bleach for less severe areas around the house such as the shower or under the sink.

Purchase an air filtration unit for your house to properly filter the air of any dust. Buy either a HEPA-approved air filter or an ionic filter for the best results. Dust your entire house every other day. Vacuum at least three times a week to keep dust from settling on the floor. Wash bedding once a week in hot, soapy water to maintain dust-free sheets that are also free of dust mites, which can worsen a dust allergy.

Take an antihistamine on a daily basis to prevent the body's reaction to dust and mold. Purchase a non-sedative antihistamine such as loratadine so you do not become drowsy. Non-sedative antihistamines are typically sold in a 12- or 24-hour pill. Drink at least six 8-oz. glasses of water when taking an antihistamine as they can dehydrate you.
