Nasonex Nasal Spray Treatment
Nasonex is a prescription allergy spray applied by nose to reduce both seasonal and year-round allergies. It works by reducing inflammation caused by common allergens that the body encounters. When applied properly, Nasonex can prevent many allergic symptoms.-
Preparation for Nasal Treatment
-
Blow your nose prior to using the medication to remove any debris and allow easier application of the medicine. Assure that the spray applicator is ready by shaking and testing it with a few sprays to make sure that the medicine is indeed misting correctly.
Applying Nasonex
-
Positioning of both your head and the applicator will apply the Nasonex in the most effective manner. Look towards the ground and insert the spray top into a nostril while closing the other nostril with your hand. Do not push the applicator either in or outwards from your nostril. This can cause the medicine to simply spray inside of the nostril and drip out. You will want the spray to go directly into your nostril. After spraying, lightly breath in through your nostril while still holding the opposing nostril shut. Don't breath in too heavily, this could cause the medicine to go into your throat. Complete this same process with the opposite nostril.
Maintenance
-
Make sure to keep your applicator clean by wiping it off before and after with a tissue. The cap should remain on the bottle any time that it is not in use to maintain a clean applicator. It is recommended to discard the bottle after about 30 days of use. In general you should start seeing the effects of Nasonex after a few weeks.
