Note any asthma related symptoms. A severe mold allergy can trigger an asthma attack. The person will begin coughing, wheezing and find it difficult to catch their breath.

Undergo an allergy skin test. The specialist injects a small amount of common allergens into your skin. If the area becomes irritated and red, then that lets them know that you are allergic to the substance.

Find out about a blood test. If the doctor suspects you may have a severe reaction to the skin test, the specialist will instead order blood work in order to diagnose your mold allergy.
