When was Lewy body dementia first described?

Lewy body dementia was first described by the German psychiatrist Friedrich Lewy in 1912. Lewy noticed the presence of abnormal inclusions in the brains of patients with Parkinson's disease and other related conditions. These inclusions, now known as Lewy bodies, are a hallmark of Lewy body dementia and other Lewy body disorders. Lewy's initial descriptions of these pathological findings provided a foundation for further understanding and characterization of the condition that now bears his name.
