What is anerexic?

Anorexia is an eating disorder characterized by an abnormally low body weight, an intense fear of gaining weight, and a disturbance in the way a person perceives their body. People with anorexia often have a distorted view of their body, and may see themselves as overweight even when they are dangerously underweight. They may severely restrict their food intake, or engage in excessive exercise to burn off calories. This can lead to malnutrition and a range of health problems, including heart problems, kidney problems, and osteoporosis. Anorexia is a serious mental illness that can be life-threatening if not treated.
