Can Ulnar neuropathy run up the arm to shoulder?
In some instances, ulnar neuropathy can extend past the elbow and affect the shoulder and neck region, but this is less common than carpal tunnel syndrome or other forms of neuropathy that affect the upper limb. The ulnar nerve is responsible for providing sensation to the little finger, ring finger, and the ulnar side of the hand, as well as some of the muscles in the forearm and hand. When the nerve becomes irritated or compressed, it can cause pain, numbness, and weakness in the affected areas. In severe cases, ulnar neuropathy can also affect the muscles of the shoulder and neck, leading to additional symptoms such as pain, weakness, and difficulty moving the arm. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is important to see a doctor for evaluation and appropriate treatment.
