Dexpak Directions

DexPak is a prescription corticosteroid drug sold under names like Decadron and Hexadrol. The drug helps alleviate swelling symptoms associated with arthritis, allergic reactions and disorders of the immune system. It can also be used to aid cancer patients struggling with vomiting and nausea associated with chemotherapy. The drug is easy to take, and has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

  Read the instructions that come with your Dexpak carefully. Keep in mind your doctor's instructions for use.

  Take the medication once a day, or as instructed by your doctor. The dosage may vary, depending on your doctor's orders. If you take Dexpak once a day, it is recommended that you take the drug in the morning before 9. Some people may not take Dexpak daily.

  Drink an 8-oz. glass of milk or water for every 240 milligrams of Dexpak. Make sure to eat a meal or light snack when you take the tablet. This will prevent the medication from irritating your throat or stomach.

  Store your medication in a safe place at room temperature. It should not be exposed to sunlight or moisture.
