Diskus Instructions
A Diskus is a circular dry-powder inhaler that contains 60 doses of asthma medication. Asthma is a chronic condition in which a person's airway becomes inflamed. This inflammation causes the muscles around the airway to tighten, which narrows the airway and causes coughing, wheezing, chest tightness and shortness of breath. In severe attacks this can interfere with breathing enough to kill. Inhalers like the Diskus contain doses of medication that either prevent attacks from happening or relieve them when they do.Instructions

1
Open the Diskus by holding it in the palm of your hand, then placing your other hand's thumb on the thumb grip. Push the grip and the cover will slide back, revealing the mouthpiece, until you hear a "click" that indicates it is in open position.
-
2
Locate the dose release lever. This is a small plastic piece mounted in a track in the middle of the edge of the Diskus exposed by the now-retracted cover.
-
3
Press the release lever away from the mouthpiece until it cannot move any farther. This prepares the dose for inhalation.
-
4
Exhale while facing away from the mouthpiece of the Diskus.
-
5
Bring the device to your mouth and close your lips around the mouthpiece.
-
6
Inhale a full breath through your mouth, then pull the Diskus away from your lips.
-
7
Hold in the breath taken through the device for 10 seconds, then exhale.
-
8
Check the counter on the device. This will tell you how many doses you have left.
-
9
Slide the cover shut and put the Diskus away.
