How to Use a Diskus
The Diskus inhaler is a simpler way to administer medicine compared to its traditional inhaler counterparts. The biggest difference you'll notice with the Diskus is that it uses dry powder medicine, and it completely relies on the power of your lungs to administer the medicine. It may look like a strange contraption at first, but it is quite user friendly. The hardest part is unlocking the device with your hand. Once you do it the first time, it will become second nature.Things You'll Need

1
Hold the Diskus inhaler in the palm of your hand and place the notch towards you.
-
2
Place your thumb in the notch and push it all the way to the side. This exposes another lever.
-
3
Push the lever all the way to the side in the same direction as the notch. This prepares your dose of medicine for usage.
-
4
Securely place your lips over the mouthpiece and breathe in with medium force. This action carries the dry powder medicine into your respiratory system.
-
5
Hold your breath for roughly 10 seconds to allow the medicine to completely enter your system. You can exhale and resume normal breathing when the time is up.
-
6
Bring the lever and the notch to its original position. This locks the inhaler and prepares it for another dose of medicine when it's time to use it again.
