How to Clean Nebulizer Tubing
A nebulizer is a medical device that provides medicated breathing treatments for people with asthma or other lung conditions. Patients with lung ailments sometimes require medicines delivered in mist form via a home nebulizer. Patients who regularly use home nebulizers must keep them clean to ensure that they are free of bacteria, mold and other germs. Nebulizer users should maintain all parts, including the nebulizer tubing, according to the instructions that accompany the nebulizer. By carefully cleaning your nebulizer tubing you can ensure that it stays germ-free.Things You'll Need

1
Disconnect the tubing from the nebulizer, but leave the tubing connected to the compressor unit. Allow the tubing to hang straight down from the compressor. This encourages any moisture that has accumulated in the tubing to drip out.
-
2
Turn on the compressor and leave it running for several minutes to dry the inside of the tubing. Turn off the compressor unit and disconnect the tubing.

3
Moisten the clean cloth with warm water and add a small amount of soap to the cloth. Use the soapy cloth to wash the outside of the tubing. Rinse the cloth well and wipe the tubing with the cloth again to remove the soap.

4
Lay the tubing out until it dries completely and then store it in the storage bag that accompanied the nebulizer and accessories.
