How to Clean Home Nebulizer Machines
The home asthma nebulizer machine is an important device for the at-home treatment of moderate to severe asthma, especially for young children and infants. Because the asthma nebulizer converts the liquid asthma medication into a breathable mist, proper care and maintenance of the machine are essential to keeping it working properly and able to perform its important medical function.Things You'll Need

1
Remove as much dirt and dust as you can from the area in which you will clean the asthma nebulizer machine. Cleaning should take place in a smoke-free room and far away from opened windows.
-
2
Gently rinse the cup with warm water. This should be done after every treatment to prevent bacterial growth and possible infection. Also, do not let water rest on the nebulizer cup.
-
3
Wash the cup and mouthpiece each night after the last treatment. Use warm water and an allergen-free soap or detergent. Do not dry the cup or mouthpiece with a towel; simply let it air dry on a clean and clear surface.
-
4
Make a cleaning solution of 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 1 1/2 cups of water to further wash the cup and mouthpiece at the end of every third or fourth day. Let the cup and mouthpiece soak in the solution for 30 minutes, wash it, and let it air dry.
-
5
Make sure your cup and mouthpiece are dry before storing it away for the night to prevent any buildup of general dust.
-
6
If you use the nebulizer often, cover it with an allergen-free and clean cloth until you are ready to use it again. If you don't use your nebulizer regularly, wait for it to dry after its last disinfection, then store it in a clean plastic bag.
