How to Include Lemons and Limes for Lung Health

The nutritional health that lemons and limes give to your lungs is valuable in combating such illnesses as what is caused by the effects of smoking and lung cancer. If you provide your lungs with the vitamins and minerals they need to be healthy such as with lemons and limes you are on the right track health wise.

Vitamin C is one vitamin that is prominant in lemons and limes they help to protect the lungs from spasms and free radical damage assocaited with air pollution, asthma, and smoking.

      Squeeze Lemons /Limes into water for lung health:

      Instead of just drinking plain water, squeeze some fresh lemon juice, or lime juice into it, this is not only giving you a mega boost of antioxidants, it is also very refreshing.

      Drink lemon/Lime in tea:

      Go ahead make your cup of hot tea. Instead of using sugar, try just a bit of stevia if you need sweet, and add a teaspoon of fresh squeezed lime or lemon in to your tea.

      Sprinkle on Fresh Vegetables and Salad:

      Top blanched vegetables with a squirt of fresh lemon or lime. Add it on top of your healthy salad for a zesty touch, and to magnify and strengthen the health of your lungs.

      Try blending coconut milk, mint leaves, crushed ice and lime juice. This is an excellent way to refresh and get adequate amounts of vitamin C for lung health.

      Many of us are trying to limit our salt intake for health reasons. Try putting a wedge of lemon or lime on your plate with a meal and using the juice as a substitute for salt. It is tart and tangy and can really do the trick to adding flavor.
