Eat more fruits and vegetables. When you reach for food let it be food that will help control weight gain.

Avoid foods high in fats and sugars. Instead, eat leaner meats and low-fat foods.

Limit your alcohol intake. Alcohol prevents fluid release and causes bloating. It also increases appetite.

Exercise to burn more calories. Exercise at least three times a week at 30 minute intervals. When you increase your intake of food you have to burn more calories to avoid weight gain. It is recommended that you take your rescue inhaler at least 10 minutes before exercising if you suffer from asthma.
