What Is Clenbuterol Used For?

Clenbuterol is a prescription medication that is not approved for use in the United States. It is a bronchodilator, a type of medication that assists in opening up the airways (bronchial tubes) of the lungs enabling air to flow more easily and smoothly throughout them. It is also a decongestant. Clenbuterol is intended to be used by individuals suffering from respiratory conditions such as asthma.

    • Clenbuterol (also known simply as "Clen") is classified as being an adrenergic agonist. It resembles ephedrine, which is also used as a decongestant. This is due to the fact that it is able to act as a beta-2 agonist, which means that it is capable of stimulation of the beta-2 receptors, which is helpful for enabling loss of fat because it lets the body burn and release more fat that is stored. Bodybuilders and athletes use Clenbuterol to help achieve a "cut" appearance by achieving lower levels of body fat.

    Horses

    • All over the world, Clenbuterol is also used for veterinary purposes, particularly in horses. It treats horses suffering from allergic respiratory disease, due to the fact that it is a bronchodilator. The medication can be administered to horses both intravenously and orally (usually in liquid form). It is commonly known also as Ventipulmin.

    Caution

    • Individuals using Clenbuterol (in other nations, as it is not permitted in the United States) need to exercise caution, as it could lead to several very serious side effects, including acute myocardial infection, tachycardia, subaortic stenosis, and thyrotoxicosis. Pregnant or breastfeeding females are advised against taking Clenbuterol.
