How to Promote Good Posture
Back pain can largely stem not only from strain or stress; it can be caused by poor posture. Though the spine is curved, it has a natural state in which it's supposed to support your body. Slouching and leaning aren't healthy positions and can cause pain to radiate in the lower back. Practicing proper posture along with a healthy diet and regular exercise will alleviate most back pain.Instructions

1
Routinely sit-up straight. Sitting at a desk can cause a person to use many "crutches" from leaning onto the desk, to slouching to one side, to over-depending on arm rests.

2
Take periodic breaks when working. Sitting in one position too long, even with good posture, can place undo strain on the spine. Muscles surrounding the back should be lightly worked from time to time.

Be aware of your posture in everyday circumstances. Promoting good posture isn't only practicing while sitting or standing at work; lunch and other breaks, as well as personal time lull a person into a more relaxed and unaware state of mind. This is when promoting good posture will be most difficult so it's important to remain aware of positioning.
