1
Find out what the stuffing of the heat pad is made of, either by reading the description that came with it or by feeling the pillow. If the pillow is full of small hard objects these will be cherry stones, ceramic beads, dried beans or another type of object which is perfectly fine for heating in a conventional oven. If it is a liquid, or was liquid which turned hard as the pack cooled, it is not suitable for heating in the oven.

2
Put the pad or cushion in an oven-safe dish and heat in the oven at 150 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes. Remember to set a timer.
-
3
Use oven gloves to remove the dish from the oven. Test to see if the pad is at a satisfactory temperature. Some ovens may require a little longer as appliance performance varies.
