Types of Posture Support
The relationship between good posture and good health is a vital part of everyone's life. The spinal column protects all of our nerves. Improper positioning or stress for a prolonged period of time puts pressure on the nerves, causing pain in the back, neck and shoulders, head and even arms. Many different types of support products are available to help alleviate painful posture problems.-
Lumbar Braces
-
Elastic and spandex braces support the lower back maintaining the proper spinal position when standing or sitting. It eases the pressure from muscle strains and sprains, and fights persistent lower backaches. The brace is worn from the lower mid back to just above the hipbones. Its adjustable straps allow a person to increase or decrease the tension during the healing process. A brace is durable to last repeated daily use. Lumbar braces are available for pregnant women, too.
Posture Bra
-
Body and breasts size can misaligned a woman's posture without proper support. Wearing a posture bra helps a woman maintain good upper back and shoulder posture. It comes in three styles: the normal bra with front closures, sports or pullover model, and a longer version that extends down the torso. The bra pulls the shoulders back reducing the sloped look and gives more support to the breasts. Breathable cotton, mesh and spandex materials comprise most posture bras.
Cushions
-
Contoured posture-support cushions with an arch provide comfort and a proper spinal position. Cushions range from 1-inch up to 3-inches in thickness depending upon how much support you need. Made from multiple layers of highly resistant polyurethane foam, a cushion will not break down after repeated use. Memory foam cushions mold to fit the shape of your back then returns to its normal shape when not in use. Both types have a removable cover for washing.
Posture Insoles
-
People on the go suffer from posture problems just like someone who sits all day. Posture insoles incorporate arch support or heel cushion to reduce the amount of pressure and shock put on the legs, knees and lower back when walking, jogging and standing. Insoles are available in two methods, over-the-counter retail brands, or cushion-made models from an orthopedic doctor. Posture insoles are convenient to use, and available in various sizes and widths.
