Benefits of the Miracle Ball

The Miracle Ball Method is an exercise routine using two 4- to 5-inch diameter balls. This exercise requires you to lay on the balls and move around, while breathing deeply. The Miracle Ball Method book, DVD, and method were invented by Elaine Petrone, a former dancer who suffered from a back injury and developed her own means of healing. Doctors said she wouldn’t be able to walk without a cane, and now she is capable of much more than that.
  1. Pain Relief

    • The No. 1 benefit of the Miracle Ball is that it relieves pain that comes from backaches, joint pain, arthritis, muscle tension, sciatic pain, hip pain, foot pain, and headaches.

    Muscle Relaxation

    • The Miracle Ball relieves muscle tension by relaxing the muscles and removing stiffness in the neck, back, and shoulder muscles.

    Anxiety and Stress Relief

    • Elaine Petrone claims that Miracle Ball relieves anxiety, stress, and fatigue. The DVD and book teaches you how to use the Miracle Ball as a relaxation technique through the method of deep breathing. The Miracle Ball uses similar methods to those of yoga and pilates.

    Fitness

    • Even though there are lots of mental and medical benefits, this method is still exercise. Using the Miracle Ball on a regular basis will strengthen the hips, slim the thighs, stretch the abdomen, and thin the waistline. Petrone claims that you will “feel leaner, longer and stronger” and that using the Miracle Ball will “reshape your body.”

    Easiness

    • Even with all these benefits, it is not an extensive and grueling workout. All it involves is laying on the balls, practicing proper breathing techniques, and doing light movements.

    Credibility

    • Trust is a key element in finding the correct workout, or medical relief method. It is nice to know that a credible source is behind your daily workout routine. Petrone has been teaching this method for more than 10 years at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut, and is also creating a certification program so that others can become educated in to teach this method. Petrone has written for several magazines, including "Fitness," "Elle," and "Self."
