Infrasound Back & Joint Pain Relief Procedures
Therapeutic infrasound treatment is a low frequency sound wave massage device that is designed to penetrate to the cellular level. This modality of treatment, used by many chiropractors and natural healing practitioners, was developed to simulate the energy transmitted in the healing art of Qigong. Instead of emitting from the Qigong master's hands, the low frequency waves are delivered through a hand-held device that is placed directly over the painful joint or muscle.-
For Tight Muscles
-
The hand-held massage device or transducer is often used to loosen tight muscles before a therapist attempts to deliver massage by hand. Depending on the degree of rigidity of the muscles, the treatment may last from 1 to 5 minutes. The sound waves penetrate into the deeper muscle layers, vibrate the surrounding cells and cause the muscle to relax. Massage by hand is then easier and perhaps more effective. The transducer can also be used to massage the entire surface of the back using sweeping motions or can be simply placed on painful areas for longer periods of time for pain relief.
For Acute Joint Pain
-
The infrasound machine comes with different time settings including 10 or 20 minutes and continuous. If you have purchased a machine for home use, hold the transducer over painful knees, hips or other areas of pain, or use a circular motion similar to how you would use a shower head. Since there is no risk of deep tissue burn or other harmful factors, there is no need for professional assistance.
Test It Out
-
Infrasound therapy, as in other natural healing methods, does not produce the same effects for everyone. It would be beneficial to try this form of therapy with your chiropractor or therapist before you decide to purchase one for your home.
