Tingling and numbness can occur down one or both legs. The legs can even feel like they cannot support the weight of the patient. This can be an almost constant feeling in the patient.
Weakness
-
Weakness in the muscles is another sign of a ruptured disc. According to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, this weakness can be found in certain muscles in one or both legs.
Bladder or Bowel Problems
-
Bladder or bowel problems are very serious if associated with a disc problem. It is known as cauda equina syndrome and medical care is needed right away.
Localized Back Pain

Localized back pain is caused by a problem with the disc itself and should not be confused with ruptured or herniated disc.
