How to Heal a Pinched Nerve in the Lower Back

- Heating pad
- Large black plastic trash bag
- Hot wet towel

Assemble the supplies. Wet the bath towel with hot water and wring it out so it is not dripping.

Lay the heating pad in the middle of the bed where your back will be. Turn it on low. This will keep the towel warm throughout the night.

Lay the black trash bag over the heating pad. This protects the heating pad from moisture.

Lay the hot wet towel over the trash bag.

When you get in bed, make sure the wet towel is positioned well over your lower back. Turn the heating pad on low and go to sleep. If possible, sleep in this position most of the night with only slight adjustments in position.

Continue this process every night. Limit your daily activities until the pinched nerve has relaxed.
