What is sars flu?
Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), often referred to as SARS flu, is a viral respiratory illness caused by a coronavirus called SARS-CoV. The SARS outbreak of 2002-2003 was a global health emergency, originating in China and spreading to more than 30 countries. Although the outbreak was eventually contained, SARS remains a potentially serious respiratory illness with symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, and, in severe cases, pneumonia and respiratory failure. Treatment for SARS primarily involves supportive care, including oxygen therapy, fluid management, and monitoring of vital functions. Early detection and isolation of infected individuals are crucial in preventing the spread of the virus.
