The prevalence of scabies in America has been increasing in recent years. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the number of reported cases of scabies in the United States increased by 50% between 2009 and 2019. This increase is thought to be due to several factors, including increased travel to areas where scabies is endemic and the growing number of people living in group settings, such as dormitories and homeless shelters, where the disease can easily spread.
