Pyloric Lymphocytes

The human body is extremely complex. Not only does it have multiple organs and systems that work in harmony to keep it in tip top shape, it also has an excellent immune system to protect it from both interior and exterior threats. This immune system relies on particular cells that touch every part of the body, from the skin to the organs, and when studied can tell a medical professional exactly what and where a problem may be.
  1. Lymphocytes

    • Lymphocytes are part of the immune system.

Lymphocytes, according to MedicineNet, are "a small white blood cell (leukocyte) that plays a large role in defending the body against disease." MedicineNet reports that "there are two main types of lymphocytes: B cells and T cells. The B cells make antibodies that attack bacteria and toxins while the T cells attack body cells themselves when they have been taken over by viruses or have become cancerous." Because lymphocytes play a major part in keeping the body healthy and functioning, these cells are commonly present at the sight of infections, inflammation and internal anomalies such as tumors.

    Pyloric

    • The pylorus connects the stomach and the small intestine.

The term pyloric "pertains to the pylorus, the opening between the stomach and duodenum," according to the Free Dictionary. The duodenum is the "first part of the small intestine...[where food] mix with bile from the gallbladder, and digestive juices from the pancreas...[and where] absorption of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients begins..." according to MedlinePlus. Pyloric is usually used to reference the pylorus in regards to anatomy, diseases, and/or conditions such as pyloric dysfunction, pyloric antrum and pyloric spasm.

    Pyloric Lymphocytes

    • While there is no exact definition of pyloric lymphocytes, the individual terms in conjunction provide more descriptive in regards to a specific place in the body rather than a condition or disease. Using the definition of the terms it can be assumed that pyloric lymphocytes refer to the B or T lymphocyte cells gathered in the pylorus. Because these cells are the primary fighters for the immune system, a large amount of lymphocytes could mean an anomaly in the body such as an infection or a tumor.
