Symptoms of Hemophilia

There are two types of hemophilia, types A and B. This is a genetic disorder that almost always effects newborn males. There are different versions of hemophilia, categorized from mild to severe. It is possible on rare occasions to acquire hemophilia. All versions of hemophilia involve the body's inability to clot blood normally.
  1. Pain or Swelling

    • Hemophilia can cause bleeding into muscle or joint areas that can then cause swelling and possible pain. This can also cause muscles to harden.

    Nosebleeds

    • You may experience frequent nosebleeds if you have hemophilia.

    Blood in Urine

    • Hematuria, known as blood in the urine, is a symptom that may happen with hemophilia.

    Deep Bruising

    • You may experience deep bruising with slight injuries or shots.

    Weakness

    • You my feel fatigued and/or have paleness.

    Paralysis

    • Paralysis may be experienced from bleeding into muscle, and you may not be able to move that limb.
