What to do if you step on a nail and something small gets stuck in the cut?

If something small gets stuck in a cut from stepping on a nail:

1. Wash your hands and the cut with soap and water.

2. Try to remove the object with tweezers that have been disinfected with rubbing alcohol.

3. If the object cannot be removed with tweezers, go to the doctor so they can remove the object.

4. Once the object has been removed, apply antibiotic ointment to the cut and cover it with a bandage.

5. Monitor the wound for signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, or drainage. If any of these occur, see a doctor.
