How to Make a Sling for Your Arm

## How to Make a Sling for Your Arm

A sling can help to support an injured arm and prevent further damage. It can be used for a variety of injuries, such as sprains, strains, fractures, and dislocations.

Materials:

- A piece of cloth (at least 36 inches long)

- A safety pin or needle and thread

- A soft pillow or blanket (optional)

Instructions:

1. Fold the cloth in half lengthwise.

2. Fold the top edge down about 6 inches.

3. Fold the bottom edge up about 12 inches.

4. Fold the sides in so that they meet in the middle.

5. Pin or sew the sides together.

6. If desired, place a pillow or blanket inside the sling to provide extra support.

7. Place your injured arm in the sling.

8. Bring the end of the sling over your shoulder and pin or sew it to the opposite side of the sling.

Tips:

- Make sure the sling is snug, but not too tight.

- The sling should be long enough to support your entire arm.

- If your injury is severe, you may need to wear the sling for several weeks.

- If you experience any pain or discomfort, remove the sling and consult with a doctor.
