How to Put on a Sling
You may need to wear a sling when you have an injury to your wrist or arm, or after you've had surgery. A sling can provide stability for your healing arm, and may actually help speed the healing process by immobilizing the injured area. Depending on your type of injury and level of mobility, you may need assistance from another person to put it on correctly.Instructions

Bend your arm at a 90-degree angle across your waist. Point your thumb upward.

2
Hook the sling strap over your neck and let it hand down your back.

Place your arm inside the sling, so that your hand extends out the open end, and your elbow is secured in the closed end.

Using the strap, adjust the length of the sling so that your arm hangs at a 90-degree angle, or straight across your waist, unless your care provider has instructed otherwise.
