How many bones do you use during walking?

During walking, you use almost every bone in your body. Some bones, such as your shin bones (tibia and fibula) and your large thigh bone (femur), take on substantial loads and contribute to the bulk of the movement. Other bones, like the bones of your cranium, ribcage, and vertebral column (spine), contribute to your overall mobility and posture, but are less directly involved in the actual movement of walking.
