What the meaning of open and closed body posture?

Body posture can reveal a lot about a person's feelings and state of mind. Open and closed postures are used to describe ways that we position our bodies toward an observer or an environmental condition when interacting with a group. The following are some basic definitions

A- Open body posture. These can convey approachability , comfort with vulnerability, friendliness and confidence. For example sitting with wide arms spread across an office chair conveys comfort for oneself and others who wish to sit with you.. Some other behaviors are:

1- Legs uncrossed.

2- Open hands when communicating.

3- Eye contact

4- Facing forward

1- Crossed legs in a standing conversation

2- Crossed arms

3- Fidgeting.

4- Shielding body parts.
