Instructions

    • 1

Build up your arm strength. This is key, since you will be using your arms, rather than your legs, to support much of your body weight.

    • 2

Watch videos of other dancers on crutches on the Internet, and begin to imitate their moves. Simple moves include holding your sweetheart with one arm and a crutch with the other, and swaying to the music. More complex moves may include lifting your feet completely off the ground or balancing yourself on the end of one crutch only.

    • 3

Practice with props or structures on which you can lean your weight. Stairs and railings can help provide variability to your moves.

    • 4

If possible, incorporate some break dance moves. Break dancing relies mainly on arm and abdominal strength. With the addition of your crutches, you are sure to impress your friends and family.
