1
Drink more fluids. Dehydration is a leading cause of muscle cramps. Invest in a water bottle you are comfortable bringing with you and refill it throughout the day. Drink fluids at regular intervals to prevent toe cramps during the day, during intense exercise and at night.
-
2
Take a daily multivitamin. Toe cramps can be caused by a deficiency in potassium or calcium. Increase your intake of food types such as fruit, vegetables and dairy to fulfill your nutritional needs without taking a multivitamin.
-
3
Wear comfortable shoes which allow adequate space for your toes. High-heeled shoes may squeeze your toes and increase the likelihood for toe cramps.
-
4
Exercise and stretch your toes daily. To do this, stand on your tiptoes and raise your body up and down. Hold the "Up" position for five seconds. Repeat 20 times per day.
