How to Use a Quadricep Ace Bandage

The quadriceps muscle is located on the outside of the thigh. A pulled or strained quadriceps can be quite painful and should be wrapped in bandages. Ace bandages aid in healing muscle injuries because they compress the muscle, preventing further swelling. An Ace quadriceps bandage is easy to apply to an injured leg.

Instructions

    • 1

Unroll the Ace bandage an inch or two.

    • 2

Place the unrolled portion on the underside of your injured upper thigh.

    • 3

Hold the gauze in place with one hand, while wrapping the roll around your thigh repeatedly.

    • 4

Cover the entire length of the painful area. If you only feel pain in the upper thigh, wrap the upper thigh, but if you feel pain all over your thigh, wrap the entire thigh.

    • 5

Cut the bandage when the leg is wrapped sufficiently.

    • 6

Attach a Velcro or clip fastener to the end of the gauze that you've just cut, and fasten it to a portion of the wrapped gauze. This will secure the bandage and keep it from falling off.
