Stromgren Ankle Support Instructions
Stromgren Ankle Support is a device that helps provide ankle support to people with ankle or leg injuries. Several types of Stromgren ankle support products are available. Each product provides freedom from repeated loosening and other such discomforts associated with ankle supports that need to be taped or tied. Another advantage it offers is that, unlike tapes and bands, it need not be purchased over and over. One set can be worn for months since it is made of spandex and is washable. Stromgren products are especially suited to people with ankle inversions and sprains.-
Heel Lock
-
A range of products is available in this brand under the Stromgren ankle support system. The Heel Lock Ankle Support resembles a bandage in terms of shape and flexibility and is worn in the same fashion as a bandage. Wrap the heel support around the ankle by holding one end of the support in one hand, and the other end in the other hand. As the support is stretched out from below the heel, each hand should be holding the two ends. The first hand should remain in place, holding the heel support so it remains on the heel. The other hand should wrap the system upward, toward the knee. When this process is complete, tuck the hooks at the two ends of the support into the band. The required tightness and length that the tape reaches should be determined by feel. The clamps can be loosened as needed.
Ankle Lock
-
The Stromgren Ankle Lock Ankle Brace has an additional brace to support the ankle. Put on the brace in the same way as you would put on a heel lock. On top of the heel lock, tie on the ankle lock ankle brace just as if you were putting on and tying a shoe. This product's shape is akin to a shoe without the tongue and toe and since it is like a shoe with one end left free, while the other part reaches toward the knee, it can simply be tied as such.
Hard Shell Ankle Support
-
The Hard Shell Ankle Support must be worn between the sock and shoe. Once the sock is on, this support is worn around the sock, as if it were a belt but for the foot. A couple of ties that are crossed and elongated make up the upper part of the support, which resembles a stirrup. Once the support is placed on the foot, the straps are wrapped around the ankle in a set pattern. Put the support on the ankle and tighten the strap and tie it until it feels tight enough on your ankle that the ankle can't move freely. The support is designed in such a manner that the stirrups provide enough rigidity for the ankle to prevent it from turning inward or outward.
