Pollenex Back Relief
Conair's Pollenex showerheads come in over 30 varieties with different features. Most showerheads come equipped with different settings that allow you to change the intensity and pressure of the water for a relaxing massage. If you suffer from back pain or tight muscles, a Pollenex showerhead may provide some relief.-
Selecting a Showerhead
-
If you suffer from back pain or muscle stiffness, check with your doctor before purchasing a showerhead. Showerheads that create too much pressure and intensity may actually worsen your condition depending on what back problems you suffer from. It is best to make sure your doctor does not advise any restrictions before purchasing a Pollenex showerhead.
Pollenex makes stationary, hand-held and combination showerheads. Combination heads include a hand-held wand attached to a stationary showerhead. While all three types can offer relief for back pain sufferers, consider a hand-held or combination showerhead instead of a stationary one. The hand-held wand allows you greater control over which areas need the massage, and combination showerheads allow you to receive the benefits of a water massage in two areas at once.
Most Pollenex showerheads come with the ability to change to different speeds and pressure, though some offer more massage settings than others do. Choose a showerhead that has settings for steady high-pressure streams as well as pulsating massage for the best back pain relief.
Using a Massaging Showerhead
-
Start slowly when using a massaging showerhead for the first time. Some heads put out a great deal of pressure that may create more pain. One way to vary the intensity once you select a massage setting is to start with your back two to three feet away from the water stream. Slowly move toward the showerhead for more intensity if you do not feel pain or discomfort.
Set the water to a comfortably warm temperature and take deep breaths, allowing your shoulders to rise and fall. The combination of the heat and steam from the shower and the massaging action of the water can help relieve muscle tension and ease pain. Change the massage setting every three to five minutes to vary the sensations on your back and neck to provide additional relief. Slowly twisting and stretching while standing under a massaging Pollenex showerhead can help ease tight muscles further, but always stand on a non-slip bath mat and do not move quickly to avoid injury.
