How to Strap a Foot With Heel Spurs

Heel spurs are small chips of bone that separate from the heel of the foot. They are generally found during an X-ray of the heel and are often seen in middle-age men and women or those who are overweight. Heel spurs are painful, but they are even more painful when you attempt to walk, run or place any weight on the heel. A foot strap can offer comfort if you suffer from the pain of heel spurs, but only if you use the strap correctly.

Instructions

    • 1

Sit down in the chair, and take your sock and shoe off the foot with the heel spurs.

    • 2

Wrap the bandage around the heel of your foot, starting from the bottom middle of your foot. Wrap the heel snug, but not tight. Wrap several times around the heel, continue up around the ankle and lower leg, wrapping each several times. End just below the calf muscle.

    • 3

Put the clip on the elastic bandage where you end at the calf by hooking it onto the bandage on the leg and attaching it to the end of the bandage strap to keep it from coming loose.
