Rapid Flex is an equine joint supplement recommended for joint pain and maintenance of performance horses. It is manufactured and distributed by Manna Pro Products. The manufacturer claims that Rapid Flex works fast and provides joint protection. Glucosamine HCL, chondroitin sulfate, hyaluronic acid and natural herbs provide building blocks for joints and maintain flexibility.-

According to the package, Rapid Flex contains both active an inactive ingredients. Active ingredients are: glucosamine HCL from shell fish, chondroitin sulfate (from pigs), hyaluronic acid, yucca root, alfalfa, nettle leaf, turmeric root, celery seed, black cohosh root and ginger root. Inactive ingredients are added to flavor, preserve and create the liquid form of Rapid Flex. They are: artificial flavor, citric acid, distilled water, methylparaben, potassium sorbate, propylparaben, sucrose and xanthan gum.
There are two recommended dosages. One dosage of Rapid Flex is for average horses, and one is for horses that weigh more than 1,200 pounds. For the initial three-week period, administer two ounces daily to average horses and three ounces daily to larger horses. After three weeks at the initial level, reduce the daily dose to a maintenance level of one ounce for average horses and one and a half ounces for larger horses.

Rapid Flex Meal is designed to be sprinkled on horse food. The meal contains additional herbal ingredients and fewer inactive ingredients. Here is a list of the active ingredients, according to the package: glucosamine HCl, mucopolysaccharides (source of chondroitin sulfate and hyaluronic acid), yucca root, alfalfa, devil's claw, nettle leaf, turmeric root, celery seed, black cohosh root and cayenne pepper. The only two inactive ingredients of Rapid Flex meal are anise flavoring and yeast culture.
Rapid Flex meal also has two different dosages according to the weight of the horse and amount of time administered. Use the provided measuring cup and adhere to the following dosages on the package. An initial dose of three weeks for an average horse is two scoops daily, and for horses heavier than 1,200 pounds, three scoops daily are recommended. The maintenance dose for average horse is one scoop daily for average horses and one and a half scoops daily for larger horses.
Considerations

Rapid Flex states that these products are only for horses. Clotting disorders, anti-coagulant medications or herbs, diabetes, hyperglycemia, urinary tract stones, pregnancy and shell fish allergies are all pre-existing conditions that require you to consult with your veterinarian before administering Rapid Flex to your horse.
Provide the dosage of Rapid Flex during or directly after meal times. This will decrease the likelihood of gastrointestinal distress.
