How to Pepper the Plantar Fascia

Plantar fasciitis is a common foot condition where the ligament that stretches from your heel and fans to all your toes becomes inflamed and painful. It can make low-impact activities, such as walking, difficult. Pepper is said to promote healing of plantar fasciitis. Always check with a medical professional to make sure your diagnosis and treatment are correct.

Remove any footwear and socks, leaving your foot and ankle exposed. Open the container of foot cream. The active ingredient in this cream should be capsaicin, such as that found in cayenne and other hot peppers. If your foot cream does not have this as a primary ingredient, it will most likely not be effective.

    • 2

Rub a dime-size portion on the underside of your foot where you are experiencing pain as well as up the ankle along the tendons in the back of your ankle.

    • 3

Keep the foot uncovered and allow the cream to soak in. This is a topical application that may create a burning sensation if you cover your foot with a sock or shoe and heat it further. Use the product three times a day, giving the cream at least 30 minutes to absorb.
