Cures for Stiff Joints
One of the main symptoms of arthritis is the prevalence of stiff joints. Although stiff joints can sometimes be painful and cumbersome, there are things that can be done to loosen the joints up and allow them to function like they should. By following an exercise plan that focuses on curing stiff joints, you can be happier and be better able to move without pain or hindrance.-
Natural Movement Exercises

Range-of-motion exercises are designed to not only relieve stiffness but also to regain the ability to move like normal. One good range of motion exercise requires you to raise your arms over your head. Another of these exercises requires you to roll your shoulders back and forth. These are not intense exercises, but they are important in allowing you to regain the motion you need to have. Do these types of exercises at least every other day.
Strength-Building Exercises

Working with weights is a good way to maintain or increase your strength. It is important to have a solid muscle foundation when you have stiff joints, because the muscles are able to provide support to the joints. Try to do strengthening exercises, such as using the leg press machine or doing pull-ups. Do these exercises every other day unless the joints begin to swell or are in pain. Take a couple of days off between strengthening exercise sessions.
Cardio Exercises

Cardio exercises, such as aerobics, are effective exercises because they allow you to have more energy to do the other kinds of exercises you need to do to cure stiff joints. Because stiff joints are often painful joints as well, the aerobic exercises that you do should not put a lot of extra pressure on your joints.
Swimming is a good cardio exercise for stiff or sore joints because there is no pounding on any of the affected joints. Likewise, bicycling is another good exercise. For best results, try to do aerobic exercise three times a week for 20 to 30 minutes per session. If it is painful for your joints to exercise for that many minutes, you can break up the aerobic exercise into two sessions of 10 to 15 minutes each.
Other Movements

Essentially any kind of movement is good for loosening up stiff joints, particularly if the movement does not put a lot of pressure on the joints. Activities such as Tai Chi and yoga can help build balance and get your joints moving without causing more stiffness or damage.
