Different Types of Splints

Splints, also referred to as braces or casts, are available for every movable part of the body. They are used for stabilization and to prevent further damage or complications to an injury after an accident, to provide stabilization for healing of injuries and after surgical procedures.
  1. Hand and Finger Splints

    • For relief from arthritis, carpal tunnel, after injury or surgery, or for the correction of physical deformity, hand and finger splints are available to hold the hand, wrist or fingers in a position that will allow maximum healing and ease of pain.

    Leg Splints

    • Splints are available for ankles, knees or the entire leg to offer support and relief after surgery, sprains or other leg injuries requiring stabilization.

    Back Splints

    • Back splints or supports are available for posture correction, treatment of injury or for stabilization after surgery. They are also used to protect the wearer against work injuries.

    Splints for Headaches and Dental Problems

    • Dental splints are available to relieve tension-related migraine headaches, temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) problems and relief from the tooth damage caused by bruxism---unconscious grinding of the teeth.

    Medical Conditions

    • Splints can provide benefits to children suffering from medical conditions such as scoliosis by aiding in the prevention of deformities and providing control over movements.
