Before you even wrap your wrist, you want to get the swelling down. To do this, avoid adding heat to the injury. Instead, put an ice pack on your wrist. This will decrease swelling and also help relieve some of the pain from the injury.

    • 2

Make sure that your wrist and hand are dry. You don't want to wrap your wrist if either of these are damp or wet as it will cause itching under the Ace bandage.

    • 3

Take the Ace bandage and wrap it twice around your wrist. Make sure it is snug against your wrist but not so tight as to cut off circulation.

    • 4

Take the Ace bandage and wrap it from your wrist across your hand and through the area between your thumb and first finger. Repeat this process two times again, making it snug but not so tight that it is uncomfortable.

    • 5

You will then wrap the Ace bandage three times around your wrist. Repeat Step 4 by wrapping the Ace bandage from your wrist to your hand.

    • 6

Repeat Step 4 and Step 5 approximately two more times to provide a good support to your injured wrist. Then secure the Ace bandage around your wrist by using either two or three medical tacks or by wrapping medical tape twice around your wrist.
