What is the main part of periphal nerve system?

The peripheral nervous system consists of all the nerves and neurons outside of the central nervous system (CNS). The CNS consists of the brain and spinal cord, while the PNS consists of all the nerves and neurons that branch out from the CNS to the rest of the body.

The main parts of the peripheral nervous system are:

* Nerves: Nerves are bundles of nerve fibers that carry messages to and from the CNS. Nerves can be either sensory, motor, or both. Sensory nerves carry information from the body to the CNS, while motor nerves carry information from the CNS to the muscles and glands.

* Ganglia: Ganglia are clusters of nerve cells outside the CNS. Ganglia can be either sensory or autonomic. Sensory ganglia are located along the sensory nerves, while autonomic ganglia are located within the autonomic nervous system.

* Neuromuscular junctions: Neuromuscular junctions are the points of contact between motor neurons and muscle fibers. When an action potential reaches the end of a motor neuron, it causes the release of neurotransmitters that stimulate the muscle fibers to contract.

The peripheral nervous system allows us to interact with our environment and to control our bodily functions. Without a PNS, we would not be able to see, hear, smell, taste, feel, or move.
