What is the brainard occupational preference inventory test?

Brainard Occupational Preference Inventory (BOPI) measures an individual's preferences in activities and interests in occupational settings and matches it with various professional options according to those results.

An individual must complete a detailed questionnaire consisting of 135 statements. Each statement pertains to a separate activity, interest, or situation. The respondent indicates their preference to each of the statements on a scale of Never to Always. The inventory takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete.

The questionnaire then generates a score for different aspects including:

- Job characteristics

- Work activities

- Work values

The results are then matched to various occupational opportunities to help an individual identify potential career paths that align with their preferences and interests.
