What does brain micro-angiopathic change mean?

Microangiopathy refers to damage to small blood vessels in the brain. Several conditions can cause these microscopic abnormalities resulting in the death of nerve cells due to lack of oxygen supply. Symptoms such as confusion, memory loss, impaired thought processing and coordination occur when there is an accumulation of cerebrovascular damage over time. Microangiopathy of the brain is one of the main pathological substrates of both vascular cognitive impairment and vascular dementia
