What are the organs of a circulatory system?

Organs of the circulatory system:

1. Heart:

- The heart is a muscular organ that serves as the central of the circulatory system. It pumps and circulates blood throughout the body.

- It consists of four chambers: the right atrium, the right ventricle, the left atrium and the left ventricle.

2. Blood Vessels:

- Blood vessels are channels that carry blood throughout the body.

- There are three main types of blood vessels:

- Arteries carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart to tissues and organs.

- Veins carry oxygen-depleted blood (except for pulmonary veins) back to the heart.

- Capillaries are tiny vessels where the exchange of oxygen, nutrients, and waste products occurs between the blood and the surrounding tissues.

3. Lungs:

- Lungs are vital organs of the respiratory system, but are also involved in the circulatory system.

- They facilitate gas exchanges, oxygenation of blood, and removal of carbon dioxide.

4. Liver:

- Although not exclusively a circulatory system organ, the liver plays a crucial role in the circulation.

- It processes and stores nutrients, detoxifies harmful substances, and produces essential proteins that maintain blood pressure.

5. Spleen:

- The spleen is an important organ located in the upper left abdomen.

- It is involved in filtering and monitoring the blood, removing old or damaged red blood cells, and acts as a storage site for platelets.
