Relief for Burning Feet

Burning feet is a symptom that occurs when the feet feel extremely hot and painful. It may be difficult to wear shoes or walk and you may have difficulty sleeping. Burning feet can be caused by many factors such as nerve damage or diabetes. It can also be caused by a fungal infection, such as athlete's feet. Circulatory problems are usually the cause.
  1. Vitamin B6

    • Take a vitamin B complex supplement daily to treat burning feet. Burning feet can often occur in individuals that have a vitamin B6 deficiency. Only a B complex vitamin that offers the full array of B supplements has been known to restore the balance within the body. B vitamins enhance the immune system and nervous function, increase metabolism, help prevent anemia and promote cell growth.

    Vitamin E

    • Use of vitamin E can help to improve circulation and blood-oxygen content in the body, which helps to relieve the symptoms of burning. Vitamin E can be found naturally in asparagus, eggs, milks, nuts and spinach.

    Cool Compresses

    • Apply cool compresses directly to the feet to provide instant relief from the burning. Run a towel under cold water and then wring it out to remove the excess water. Wrap the towel around the feet. Repeat if necessary.

    Creams

    • Apply a layer of fungal cream to the infected area if a fungus such as athlete's feet causes the burning. Apply the cream directly to the feet three times a day. It can take as long as 45 days to cure the fungus and completely alleviate the burning.

    Soaking

    • Soaking the feet twice a day in an herbal footbath can help relieve the burning sensations. Cut and crush two to three tablespoons of mallow or sanicle herbs and place them directly into your footbath. You can also put two to three tablespoons of crushed thyme into the water. All of these herbs can be found at your local health food store and thyme can be found at most grocery stores. Allow the feet to soak for 20 minutes each time for the best results.
