Medication is the first and most common treatment of seizure disorders, according to Mayo Clinic. Antiepileptic drugs prevent you from having seizures. However, it may take some time for your doctor to determine the correct dosage. Never skip your medication, and call your doctor immediately if you suspect any side effects.
Surgery

Surgery may be an option if medication does not work. Also, according to Mayo Clinic, surgery is commonly used if your seizures occur in the part of your brain which does not control vital body functions. During surgery, this particular part of your brain is removed to stop seizures.
