Things You'll Need

- 2 bed sheets
- Pocket knife
- Rope
Instructions

1
Wrap bed sheets around two wooden dowels so that both dowels are well padded.
-
2
Carve a notch into the ends of both wooden dowels using a pocket knife.
-
3
Place the two splints on the outside and the inside of the fractured leg, so that neither one touches the front of the shin or the back of the calf. The notch should sit on the bottom side of the splint, near the foot. Both splints should extend to the ground.

4
Tie the splint around the leg using your rope. Keep the splint tight enough to prevent further injury to the shin, but not so tight as to prevent blood flow or damage the leg. Place a piece of rope under the foot and pull the rope through the notches at the bottom of each wooden dowel. Wrap and tie this rope around the ankle to prevent the splint from moving.
