What is sling and swath?
To apply a sling and swath bandage, you will need the following materials:
* A piece of cloth or gauze that is large enough to cover the entire injured area
* Tape or pins to secure the bandage in place
* Scissors
* A pen or marker
Instructions:
1. Cut the cloth or gauze into a triangular shape.
2. Place the bandage over the injured area, with the point of the triangle facing up.
3. Wrap the bandage around the body, starting at the base of the triangle and working your way up.
4. Secure the bandage in place with tape or pins.
5. Use the pen or marker to write the date and time that the bandage was applied on the outside of the bandage.
Sling and swath bandages should be changed every day or two to prevent infection and to ensure that the bandage is providing adequate support and compression. If the bandage becomes wet, it should be changed immediately.
If you are experiencing pain, swelling, or discomfort after applying a sling and swath bandage, it is important to seek medical attention right away.
